Daniel Craig return as James Bond in the next in the series after Casino Royale. Quantum of Solace take off where we left off in the Royale film. Bond is still holding the anger and resentment of losing his girl in his last undertakings. He decides to go after the men in question of killing his woman, to find some answers and get some revenge.
As I am reading more and more reviews and talking to more and more people, I am quickly realizing that “The Day the Earth Stood Still” is extremely misunderstood and viewers have no idea what is actually happening, nor what “The Day the Earth Stood Still” truly tried to convey. This leaves me with a little bit of a dilemma because I obviously will not give away any spoilers, nor will I try to clarify any discrepancies because, again, it may take away from someone’s experience. With that said, if you saw the movie and still have questions, email me. Otherwise, like most reviews, I will highlight the premise, acting, pros and cons. Based off of the 1951 original, “The Day the Earth Stood Still” takes place in New York, where a Princeton professor, Jennifer Connelly, quickly learns that an asteroid on a collision course with Earth is actually an alien orb. After studying the alien, played by Keanu Reeves, she develops an initial rapport with him and realizes she is mankind’s only hope to survive.
In fact, the film leaves out many of the expected 'Bond series' trademarks ingredients. When Bond is drinking, he doesn't know what's in his drink, that's a first. It's part vodka part this, part something else. Not the original dry Vodka Martini shaken not stirred. That doesn't quite bother one as much as the fact that Q the inventor is not involved either. Without Q, most of the cool gadgets and extra laughs are left out. Bond's car was fast, and nothing else. I could see the Transporter series if that's all I wanted to see was fast cars and some fighting. Normally James Bond is with a lot of women for playful fun in the series. Not so in this film, Craig's character only sleeps with a woman to get out of a bad situation.
On top of all this, there is not much humor to the film. The somewhat funny line is when M says to Bond, "You look like hell." Not many people in the theater laughed at that one. The traditional bond films where always more campy with plenty of one liners. Films like Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldeneye just seem to be more enjoyable films. They help you escape from reality, where Quantum of Solace brings you back to reality and half the film you feel depressed that Bond's life is so hard. Usually one goes to the movies to escape from reality, or have a fun adventure, not a tormented adventure. Some people may say 'well its just gritty and raw' but does that make it a better Bond than the old films. It was just too preachy, if you want to be preached to, you go to your preacher. This movie fell short of my expectations for a fun adventure, plus there wasn't much spying, Bond was basically a hit man. I've already seen that Bond film, it's called "License to Kill."

- Saw V
. . . just like Hollywood actresses, it may look enticing and intriguing on the outside, but after spending a few minutes with it, it not only goes down hill, it skydives like the DOW.
- Zack and Miri Make a Porno
Seth Rogan is back at it again, this time making a porno. Despite having a great premise, cast and dialogue, the film fails delivering just a bit at the end
